small progress

Hi there,
first of all, thanks to Nicole for allowing me to join the group! I just finished a huge model I was working on, so now I am starting to stitch on MY projects again. I started my Quaker Christmas on New Year's Day, but only got to put a few stitches in before going back to the model.
I am using 25 ct. opal. Lugana with Victorian Motto Sampler Flosses. I LOVE how it is looking & look forward to the days it comes out to play!!
I must say thou, I have got to get busy on baby things as well!! Our son & DIL are expecting triplets & we were told this am to expect them to come up to 2 months before the actual due date. Grandma better hurry up!!!!

My Progress

I finished up a couple motifs today! I found if I use Thread Heaven on my Belle Soie it really helps with the fuzzing and fraying. It's making stitching it much more enjoyable! :)

QC's Progress

I have been rotating my wips and progresses are great. Here is an update on my QC. I am also stitching another Quaker design, the BP Sampler, pic in my blog. I really am crazy about Quaker designs.

Hugs,
Ellen

Kristin's QV - First Update

Here is what I have to show for my first stitching update. I love working on QV. I feel like I have spent a lot of time working on this, but don't have a lot to show. I have always appreciated what others have posted for progress, but now I have a whole different perspective. While slow going, this is a joy to work on. I have been concerned that the contrast of the silk to the linen was not great enough, but this is for our bedroom which is very muted periwinkle so I am going to keep going with this color. The words and letters will be stitched in Oatmeal Scone.

March 14th update.... (a little late!)

Before.... After a bit more stitching.....
I was able to stitch a few hours (combined) last Wed & Thurs & here are my before & after pics. Hope to get to stitch more this week!
Thanks for looking & happy stitching,
Amy SC

Julie's QV after one month

I started on 2/17, so tomorrow marks one month. I had hoped to get a page done each month, but I'm not even close to having the first page completed. I've had a terrible time with counting and had to restitch several areas.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks, Nicole for the invitation. I started Quaker Christmas in January, it is one of my big projects for this year. I am stitching QC on 28ct linen using DMC variations 4045, DMC 319, 814 and 680. Here is a picture of my progress.

I love Quaker designs and enjoy stitching this piece.

Kristin's Quaker Virtues

Today I received all of my goodies for Quaker Virtues today. I just love it when the mailman brings good stuff! I have been admiring others fine work on the Quaker beauties for a while now. When I saw the SAL group form, I knew it was time to get moving! Thank you, I am so glad to be apart of my first stitch along.
I have chosen 36ct natural linen with Belle Soie Spring Violets and Oatmeal Scone. I can't wait to put my first stitches in!
Hope to post soon with progress.

Debby's Quaker Virtues

Here is a little more progress on Quaker Virtues. My dh had to pry me out of the house to come and help him outside as I am just loving stitching on this beautiful project. I kept saying just a little bit more and I will come and help him. I finally got the flower basket done and then I had to stop and work outside. I would rather be stitching but it really is nice out there. More later!

Here's my latest update on Quaker Christmas. I didn't get a lot done because I was cleaning all day!

Quaker Christmas

I'm not having as many problems with the Belle Soie because I have made myself become more aware when the strands are starting to fray. When they do I stop using them. So in essence I'm using shorter strands. Looking forward to seeing everyone's progress! :)

Debby's Quaker Virtues

Here is a progress photo of Quaker Virtues. Nicole was so nice to have stitched on this project and after deciding that she wanted to stitch on Quaker Christmas instead, she asked me if I would like to have this beautiful project and stitch it and of course I just jumped for joy! Nicole, I just can't thank you enough for this wonderful gift!!

I stitched a little of the motif in the center on the bottom and all of the other stitching has been done by Nicole. I am loving this project! It is being stitched on 40 ct.(I think) linen with Crescent Colors Wild Berries and Weeping Willow. I am so happy to have joined this SAL and will love seeing everyone's progress here! :))

Julie's Quaker Virtues

Hello!

Thank you Nicole for including me in this group! I am hoping to be motivated by every one's progress to continue working on my own Quaker Virtues.

I started this piece on 2/17/09 at Wichita, KS where I had met with some cross stitching friends to stitch at their LNS; Heart's Desire. I'm stitching this on 16 ct. aida by Picture This Plus called Highland. I'm using Crescent Colors thread called Desert Mesquite. I haven't picked the thread color for the words and letters yet. This is a poor picture. Hopefully I'll get a better one at some point.

I'm not using a rotation system. Its currently the only piece I'm working on at home (I usually keep something small with me to stitch on while away from home and something larger to stitch on while at home).

I'll post again soon! Happy Stitching!

Julie
